Your chance to help a {grow} friend!

a-helping-handThe {grow} community is our little cyber salon where we can hang out, get to know each other, and hash out some issues together.  I also like to extend a hand and help readers where I can, and I hope you will, too.

Jamie Wallace (@suddenlyjamie) has been an important contributor to {grow} as a guest blogger and commenter. You might recall an article she wrote, “Why measuring social media ROI is like being a great bartender” which became  an Internet sensation!

She’s trying to secure a position as a blogger with NatureMade Vitamin Company and part of that process is an online voting competition. Let’s call it what it is: a vitamin-infused publicity stunt, and probably a good one!  She has to be one of the top 20 vote-getters to be considered for the job.

In any event, Jamie passionately wants this job and YOU have a chance to help her get it by voting for her.  That’s right. You can help one of our community members get a job!  Click here to help:  http://mygoodmoodgigcampaign.wordpress.com/whats-in-it-for-you/

This is a chance to support Jamie and thank her for her contributions in this space. Thanks for making this community AMAZING by helping each other when we need it!

P.S.  Tweeting this article will help Jamie, too.

P.P.S.  Isn’t “The Jungle Book” a great movie?  I think it was the first film I ever saw in a theater.

@Mark – Do you think gestures like this are why one reader described you as a “gentleman?”

{grow} is far and away the blog I visit most consistently for stimulating conversation. As I’ve already said, you have a knack for bringing people together and then stirring things up by asking interesting questions and providing people with on-your-head perspectives. This community is lucky to have you.

And I’m lucky that you’re so generous to share your air-time on behalf of my little “cause.” For me, you just took your game to a whole new level. There are plenty of people out there willing to TALK about building and supporting community, but Mark W. Schaefer puts his blog where his mouth is. Impressive.

Many thanks. See you ’round the comments section. ;)

In the long run, helping each other when we have the opportunity — even in little ways — will have a much bigger impact on the world than any blog post.

Thanks for your comment Jamie, but not necessary : )

PS – I DO love “Jungle Book,” and I’m getting a whole new take on the classic tale reading Neil Gaiman’s interpretation – “The Graveyard Book.” Very enjoyable … even if it makes me want to sleep with the lights on now and again. ;)

"A List" bloggers are, well, bloggers. What A-list blogger would think they need a website? Probably as many as product companies think they need a blog : )

Different audiences want different information. If I’m coming to a site to buy a product – I don’t want to read a blog about the state of the market. If I'm coming to Mark’s blog ... the last thing I want is to have him sell me some product.[more]
