Traditional classes and conferences aren’t preparing marketing leaders for the unprecedented changes in the business world. While most events provide tips and tricks to iterate on “what is,” The Uprising is an intimate, private event focused on the concepts and skills needed for leaders to conquer what is next.

Due to the pandemic, our retreat will occur in a small online format — About two and a half hours of content per day for three consecutive days.

The Uprising is a co-created event — a blend of inspiring and powerful presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful networking with new friends.

Due to the overwhelming demand for this event (the first online event sold out in three hours) I’ve decided to have two identical sessions to limit attendance to 30 but allow more people to participate from around the world.

The next event is scheduled for October 12, 13, and 14 (from noon US Eastern Time to about 3 p.m. each day).

The Uprising Team

Every participant plays a role in The Uprising, but the conversations will be led by these outstanding marketing thought leaders:

  • Jola Burnett is VP for GfK, the world’s leading source of consumer insights. Jola will be bringing us up to the minute research and discuss the cataclysmic post-pandemic trends impacting marketing for years to come.

  • Joseph Jaffe has worked on marketing projects with companies like  Coca-Cola, Nestle, Mondelez, and many more. He’s written five books including “Life After The 30-Second Spot,” “Flip the Funnel,” and “Built to Suck: The Inevitable Demise of the Corporation.” Joseph is currently the host of a pioneering live streaming program. He’ll lead a discussion on strategies to remain relevant in a tumultuous marketing profession.

  • Minter Dial is one of the world’s leading branding authorities. After a career in brand leadership with L’Oreal, Minter became a film producer, author, and speaker. What is branding in 2021? How will it evolve in the future?

  • Evelyn Starr is a leading branding expert and the author of the new book “Teenage WasteBrand.” She’ll be discussing re-energizing your marketing strategy in an era of business turmoil and uncertainty.

  • Mark Schaefer … well … you know who he is. I’m going to be talking about why 2021 is the most important year in the history of marketing!

  • Scott Guthrie is a world authority on influencer marketing, the hottest topic around. He’ll lead us on a journey of what’s working now and in the future!

The Venue

Unfortunately, we can’t re-create the storybook lodge-like setting of our live event in Tennessee, but we can create an environment of wonderful discussion and fellowship online.

In our first online event, 100 percent of the participants rated The Uprising a five out five stars.

Each day we will have short talks by our discussion leaders followed by questions and small discussions. We’re also planning a few surprises along the way as we bring you an online experience unlike any other.

And we’ll be bringing the LIVE event back to Tennessee April 5-8, 2022 so we can experience settings like this:

Participants should prepare for this schedule:

DAY ONE (noon Eastern Time): Mark Schaefer will kick off Day One and Jola Burnett will help us discover significant future trends.

DAY TWO (noon): Joseph Jaffe will lead a discussion about remaining relevant in our marketing roles and Evelyn Starr will walk us through key ideas from her new marketing book.

DAY THREE (noon): Minter Dial will compare branding from a historical perspective to what consumers expect today and we’ll finish up with a special guest star.

RETURN POLICY: Tickets are fully refundable up until 60 days before the event. One-half of the price will be refunded up until 30 days before the event. Ticket holders may transfer or sell their spot to another person as an option.
