I’ve written a ton about Gen Z. It’s a singularly fascinating generation. Always online. Purpose-driven. Punches above its weight in terms of cultural impact.
So when I learned about the first-ever Gen Z conference, I was attracted to it like Gary Vee to a video camera.
The Gen Z-fueled agency JUV recently organized and hosted a conference dedicated to its generation (Z Con). I didn’t know if this concept was incredibly bold and fun or the most self-absorbed event since the Fyre Festival. Would you pay to attend The Baby Boomer Briefing or the Gen X Experience? I didn’t think so.
But here I was, psyched up for Z Con. I was ready for something new. I was ready for Gen Z Exposed!
I attended this LA-based event online and my friend Sara Wilson attended in real life. This is a conference that celebrates a generation who declares that:
- “We don’t want a seat at the table. We want to bring down the whole table,”
- “Nobody understands Gen Z except Gen Z.”
- “There is no online life and offline life. There is just life … online.”
Sara and I got to know some truly inspirational young stars from this event. I’ll be following them for a long time! I hope you’ll join in on the fun. The link below leads you to a blunt and honest conversation between Sara and me about becoming “besties” with Gen Z:
