As I travel around the world, one of the things I find remarkable is how radically different the use of social media can be in different countries. Perhaps there is no more complex landscape to consider than the use of social media in Asia.
Luckily I have a friend who can help us sort it out.
One of the most interesting and inspiring young marketing professionals I have met through Twitter is Christel Quek. Over the years it has been fun to follow her progress and I recently had the chance to meet her for the first time, shortly after she started a new business development job in Asia for Twitter.
There are few people in the world more tapped into the Asian social media scene than Christel so this was a good opportunity to learn from her — what’s hot, what’s happening, and what is it like to work for Twitter?
I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch this short interview as we explore …
The content challenge in Asia
Twitter’s secret tools
The hottest Asian social media trends – micro social networks
Social intelligence centers
Be sure to follow Christel and her adventures on Twitter.
